(ISCE) Introduction to Live Sound Engineering

  • 06/10/2016
  • High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon, Herts

This practical course by ISCE covers the fundamentals of mixing and operating a sound system in live events.  Hands-on with analogue and digital desks and an opportunity to mix and remix multiple music sources in real time.

Most sound engineers who operate mixing consoles in concerts, conferences and festivals have learned their trade by hard graft and experience, rather than formal training.  This course is designed to bring learning opportunities to young engineers and musicians aspiring to work in live sound, or experienced engineers who will benefit from good advice and practical teaching.

Our presenter is Brian Hillson AMInstSCE, who brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to his work and yet displays the same sense of passion for sound, which has made him a leader and driving force throughout his distinguished career.  He has extensive experience of both Live Sound and recording and is acknowledged as a leading Producer in his specialist field; brass and choral music.  He has travelled worldwide, completing almost 1,000 productions in his long career, including sessions in the famous studios such as Abbey Road, EMI, Air Lyndhurst and ABC Melbourne.
