Technological Developments In Audio Post Production Workflows

Photo Mike ThorntonMike Thornton has been working in the broadcast audio and post production industries for some 40 years and has learnt a thing or two along the way. Mike has become somewhat of an expert in audio manipulation, restoration, sweetening, fiddling and fettling. More recently he founded and runs the Pro Tools Expert website. If there is a plug in or gizmo that can alter, improve, or rescue a piece of audio, then the chances are Mike knows all about it.

Mike will explain and demonstrate a number of different utilities, plug ins, and products that can be used in post production to make our original audio not just better, but the best possible. These will include several products from iZotope, Sound Radix, and Sound Particles, and there will be more.

Mike has agreed to take on a bit of a challenge, in that…. If you have a short (ie less than 1 min) clip of audio that you think could be ‘improved’, then upload it to the following dropbox location. He will pick some of the clips and ‘apply some of his magic to them’  and we will play some at the event and see how the before and after versions sound.

We are working on a couple of other surprises – watch this space for further news……
