When Samsung, the owner of AKG decided to move the classic microphone and headphone manufacturer out of it’s home of nearly 70 years, Vienna. 22 of the employees decided not just to seek alternative employment, but to start up their own microphone and headphone brand, Austrian Audio.
Their aim, to go up against the top brands in the audio industry, including their former employer who were still selling the microphones and headphones they themselves once designed and built. In effect competing against their own products.
