Tom Slater, the owner and founder of Call and Response Studios, is offering IPS members an opportunity to come and see his spatial sound production studio. On this free to attend visit there are 2 sessions available. 19:00 to 19:45 and 20:00 to 20:45. The registration process will allow you to book for one of the sessions (if there are still spaces).
www.callandresponse.org.uk Call & Response Studios is an audio production space that specialises in spatial sound for Dolby Atmos music releases, VR and 360 videos, game audio and large-scale immersive audiovisual installations. Based at Somerset House WC2R, the studio is equipped with a 32-speaker dome surround system that supports both Dolby Atmos 9.1.4 and higher order ambisonics (HOA) monitoring. During your visit you will listen to surround audio works from some of our recent projects including a 32-speaker electronic ambient composition, a meditative VR nature soundscape and a Dolby Atmos release for Apple Music’s Airpods campaign. The listening session will be followed by an open discussion with Tom about approaches to spatial sound production, including; use cases, technical and creative workflows, project case studies and aesthetic considerations.
Places are limited, so please let us know if you book and then are not able to attend, so that we can reallocate your place to another member. We will have a waiting list for places once each session is full.
